Games travel advice to keep London moving this summer

Well over a year ago, Transport for London (TfL) started their campaign to get people to think about their travel in summer 2012 and consider different ways of getting about.

As you’d expect, the roads and public transport will be much busier than usual so we’re all being urged to get advice from getaheadofthegames.com as soon as possible. This way we can decide if our daily travel plans and one off journeys can avoid predicted hotspots, giving us a chance to plan and try new routes or rearrange appointments or days out for less busy times.

On getaheadofthegames.com you can drill down to individual hotspot stations. As expected, London Bridge underground station is one of these and is predicted to be busiest:

  • 7-9.30am on Friday 3 August to Thursday 9 August and evening peaks
  • 4-9.30pm on all days
  • London Bridge Underground station will be particularly busy all day on Monday 30 July
  • London Bridge Underground station will also be busier than usual during the weekends, with periods when it will be particularly busy.

Exponents of twitter will have access to the most up to date travel information during the summer. By following @GAOTG people can receive the latest tips, travel information and advice on how to plan ahead and avoid the worst congestion.
