Despite the disappointing temperatures businesses have reported successful trading over the summer period, while our InfoBike service has helped record numbers of visitors in the area.

The large volume of people that swell the population during summer months bring with them additional pressures on services and infrastructure, one of the most obvious being street cleaning.

Following the annual Mayor's Thames Festival, TLB's blitz cleaners will be back on the road 12-15 September, consentrating on the south side of Tooley Street between Borough High Street and Weston Street.

During the 64 man hours the crew will be jet washing the pavements and street furniture, removing chewing gum and cleaning the litter bins that have become slightly pungent over recent weeks. All graffiti and fly posting in this area will also be attended to, making a noticable difference to the streetscape.
