Tower Gateway station to close for remodelling
Between October 2007 and January 2010, construction will take place on the Docklands Light Railway to allow the service to meet passenger growth by adding an extra carriage to each train. Passengers who regularly use Tower Gateway station will either have to join the DLR at Bank or use the District and Circle line at Tower Hill instead between June 2008 and April 2009 as the station will be closed for extensive remodelling.

The service has gone from strength to strength since opening in 1987. Growing faster than any railway in the UK, the DLR runs for 31km with 38 stations and 94 vehicles. 50% of people flying from London City Airport now use the service, while future expansion will see the line extended to Stratford International, Woolwich Arsenal and Dagenham Dock.
