London Festival of Architecture 2008 comes to Southwark

The theme of the 2008 Festival is FRESH! – fresh thinking, fresh talent, fresh approach, fresh air and fresh food. It will take place over four weeks centred round five major Hubs – Kensington, Chelsea & Knightsbridge; Canary Wharf, Stratford & Thames Gateway; King’s Cross, Bloomsbury & Covent Garden; Southwark & South Bank; Clerkenwell & the City of London.

The London Festival of Architecture's special attraction is that it brings together the professionals and the general public in an event that celebrates the history of the place, the positive aspects of the present and takes a critical view of what the future might have to offer.

The London Festival of Architecture runs from 20 June to 20 July 2008. For a five day period over successive weekends the focus of the Festival will turn to one of the five Hubs of activity. London Bridge falls into the Southwark and South Bank Hub between 9 - 13 July.

Walks, cycle- rides, installations, talks, exhibitions and events will run in all of the Hubs throughout the Festival. Current confirmed events for the Southwark & Southbank hub can be seen on www.lfa2008.org/hub.php?id=4

Throughout the Festival there will be a Riverboat service stopping at key access points: LFA2008 River Boat Service

Southwark Podwalks will also be available from June 20th.
